Hosting plans don't include backups. Premium Backups does it for you: a full copy of the plan every day, encrypted, stored off-site and restored from your dashboard.
What it saves you from
- an update or plugin that breaks the site
- a page, file or database deleted by mistake
- a server failure
A restore puts back every file and database in the copy you pick. Files added since that copy stay, so after a hack, open a ticket before you restore and we'll clean up with you.
What's copied
Everything on the plan: website files, a full export of every database, and the plan's settings. It's a full copy, not a file list.

Where the copies go
Each copy is encrypted on the server before it's uploaded, then stored off-site in Cloudflare R2, away from the server that runs your site. Cloudflare only ever holds encrypted data. The key that decrypts it stays with phas.
Using it
Open the plan under Hosting and click Backups. The page lists every copy with its date, size and status. From there you can:
- take a backup now, before a risky change. See Take a backup before a change
- restore any copy from the last 30 days. See Restore a backup
- delete a copy you don't want, which removes the stored archive

When backups stop
- You switch Premium Backups off. It runs to the end of the billing period. After that no new backups are taken. Backups already taken stay on the Backups page, and can still be restored, until they're 30 days old. Then they're deleted.
- Your plan is suspended. No new backups are taken, and none are deleted.
- Your plan is deleted. Before we delete it, we take a final backup of the whole plan and keep it for 90 days, whether or not it had Premium Backups. Ask us within that time and we'll restore it or give you a copy. Other backups are deleted once they're 30 days old.
- You delete your phas account. We delete every backup we hold of your hosting, including the final backup.
