Any copy still in retention can be restored from the Backups page. A restore is whole-plan and in place: files, databases and configuration all return to how they were when that copy was taken.
Before you restore
A restore replaces what is on the plan now. If anything from today is worth keeping, take a snapshot first with Back up now. That copy sits in the history and can be restored in turn, so a restore is never a one-way door.
Restoring
- Open the plan under Hosting and click Backups.
- Find the copy in the history and click Restore.
- Confirm. The restore shows as Running, then Done.
The site is unavailable for the length of the restore, usually a minute or two, a little longer for large accounts. When it finishes, the account looks exactly as it did at the copy's date. Domains, DNS and add-ons are not part of a backup and are unchanged.
If the restore fails
The history shows Failed with a short reason. Nothing is half-applied: the account is left as it was before the restore started. Open a ticket naming the copy and we look at it.
