Needs the Premium Backups add-on. Plans don't include backups. Without the add-on, make your own with Backup Wizard in the control panel and download each copy within 2 days, before it's cleared. See How Premium Backups work.
Scheduled backups run each morning. Before a change you might want to undo, take a backup so the rollback point is minutes old.
Good times for one:
- before updating a theme, plugin or WordPress itself
- before changing the PHP version
- before a bulk edit or import, or handing the site to a developer
- before a restore, so today's state is kept too
Taking one
- Open the plan under Hosting and click Backups.
- Click Back up now.
- It shows as Running, then Ready with its size. Small sites take a minute or two; large ones longer.
You can take up to 3 extra backups in any 24 hours. They're kept 30 days, like the daily copies.
One at a time
A plan runs one backup at a time. If one is already running, Back up now tells you. Use that copy once it shows Ready.
