There's no contract and no phone call. Cancel from the plan's page and the plan runs until the end of the period you've already paid for.
What happens
- Open the plan under Hosting. Terminate is in the Danger zone at the bottom.
- Confirm with your password. The plan is set to end on the last day of the current billing period, and nothing more is charged for it.
- On that day the site goes offline. Its files, databases and backups are kept for at least 30 days, in case you change your mind.
- After that we delete the plan. We take a final backup of the whole plan first and keep it for 90 days, then delete it.
Add-ons on the plan end with it. Transactional Email stops sending on the end date and its sending setup is removed. Domains registered with phas aren't affected: they stay in your account, keep renewing if auto-renew is on, and their DNS zones keep working.
A plan moved to phas without a card cancels the same way. It ends on its paid-until date, with no refund for time already paid, and the payment reminders stop.
Before the end date
Take a copy of anything you want to keep:
- Backup Wizard in the control panel (Backups → Backup Wizard) makes a full copy of the plan to download. Download it within 2 days; Backup Wizard copies are deleted after that.
- phpMyAdmin in the control panel exports a single database.
- With Premium Backups, ask us for an archive of any backup.
Changed your mind
- Before the end date: open a ticket and we'll cancel the cancellation.
- Up to 30 days after it: reply to the "your hosting has ended" email, or open a ticket, and we'll bring the plan back. Transactional Email needs setting up again.
- After the plan is deleted: for 90 days, we can restore the final backup or send you a copy.
