Redirects and the parked page

Point a spare domain or an old path anywhere, or show a clean "coming soon" page, without any hosting.

Both features live on the zone page and work at the edge, so the domain needs no hosting plan behind it.

Redirects

Use a redirect to send visitors from one address to another:

a spare domain to your main site (yourbrand.com.au to yourbrand.au)
the bare domain to www, or the other way round
an old page path to its new home after a site restructure

In the Redirects card, enter the source (the domain, or a path on it) and the destination address. Redirects are permanent by default, which is what search engines expect for a moved site; choose temporary for a short-lived diversion.

A redirect needs the source name to be proxied. If the name has no record, one is added for you; if it has an unproxied A or CNAME, turn the proxy on first.

The parked page

A domain with no website yet can show a tidy page saying the domain is registered and its site is on the way. Switch it on in the Parking section of the zone page.

Parking politely refuses to cover up a real site: if the domain already resolves to a server or has a redirect, the switch tells you why it cannot be enabled. Turn it off when the site is ready and the domain's records take over immediately.
