Why is there no email service included?
Email takes a considerable amount of time and support resources to administer properly. Transactional email for sending critical emails like password resets and receipts can be purchased as an optional addon.
Why don’t you support PHP 7.x?
PHP 7.x has reached end-of-life and is no longer receiving security updates. To ensure your website remains secure and reliable, PHAS only supports actively maintained versions of PHP 8.1 and above.
What kind of websites is PHAS hosting suitable for?
PHAS is ideal for WordPress, custom PHP applications, static sites, and eCommerce projects. We’re are seeing a noticeable increase in sites running Craft CMS and October CMS, along with applications developed using the Laravel framework.
Is email support included with hosting?
Support for website hosting is included, but email-specific services and support isn’t provided. If you need assistance with email, we recommend partnering with a dedicated email provider for better reliability and support - Fastmail and Proton are excellent email services.
How do I handle backups?
All PHAS hosting plans include daily offsite backups to protect your data. You can restore your site or request specific backups at any time, however there is a restriction on how far back we can recover so taking your own manual backups is also recommend (and easy) in your hosting control panel.
Are there limits on resources like CPU or RAM?
Yes, resource usage is monitored and managed to ensure stability and performance for all users. If your website needs more resources, we can help you upgrade, suggest methods of optimising your application, or move to a plan that meets your requirements.
Can I use a control panel like cPanel or Plesk?
PHAS uses a containerised solution built on Docker for managing hosting environments, which offers a modern, lightweight, and developer-friendly alternative to traditional control panels.
What happens if I need support outside of the included hours?
12/7 support is included with all plans (08:00-20:00, 7 days per week), and after-hours support is available for an additional cost. You can also pre-purchase developer time if you anticipate needing assistance with troubleshooting or updating your codebase.
